As the daily newspapers jumped on the sticker collection craze, the Daily Mirror’s “Stick With Soccer” album for the 1986-1987 season was a much more straightforward effort compared to more established publishers.

Boasting a total of “286 colour photograph stickers of players from the 22 First Division clubs” made up this collection .  There were club details, “interesting club facts” and a biography of each player.

Each team had 13 player stickers and that was all.  Unfortunately, the photos were not of the highest quality.  Accuracy in verifying the photos didn’t seem to be a top priority to the extent that the photo of Pat van den Hauwe playing for Everton then, was actually one of Graeme Sharp (and it wasn’t a question of a sticker being put in the wrong place as the sticker number matched with that on the page and the space for Graeme Sharp actually matched a sticker with a photo of Graeme Sharp !).
