| 13.01.1979 | Spurs Reserves ran in four second half goals to beat Orient at White Hart Lane in the Football Combination.
It took until the 51st minute to break down the Orient defence, when Glenn Hoddle placed a precise shot into the net, but it opened the floodgates. The second Spurs goal followed three minutes later with Paul Bowgett powering home a header before Stuart Beavon’s drive found its way into the net through keeper John Smeulders’ legs and then the win was rounded off by Terry Gibson, Heading in from close range in the last minute on his Combination debut. Spurs faced our former central defender Phil Holyoak, who was on trial with Orient. Teams : |

| 05.09.1978 | Orient’s Reserves were in for a shock when they faced Spurs Reserves at Leyton on a Tuesday afternoon and were on the end of a 9-1 thrashing.
Orient defender Stephen Springall had a nightmare first half putting two goals past his own goalkeeper, although in between them, Barry Stockwell had levelled for the O’s and the teams went in at half-time with Spurs leading 2-1 without one of the Tottenham players scoring. When Stuart Beavon ran through the middle of the home defence early in the second half, he beat the keeper to make it 3-1 and the Orient side were a little over-whelmed. Spurs continued to pile on the pressure and reached the final score-line of 9-1 with further goals from Colin Lee 3 (his second successive hat-trick), Mark Falco 2 and another by Beavon. Teams : |
