1900 Tom Bradshaw had only been a Spurs player for 18 months after joining from Thames Ironworks before dying at the age of 26.  His family benefitted from Spurs agreeing to play his former team.

1904 Allan Leach-Lewis makes his debut for Tottenham at centre-half.

1947 The British Army played at White Hart Lane against the Belgian Army in a Triangular Tournament.

1952 Eddie Baily was the architect of the only goal of the game in an important match for the Terriers, who were battling against relegation.  Baily took a corner kick on the Spurs left wing and it inadvertently struck the referee on the back.  The ball bounced back to Baily and from his follow-up cross, Len Duquemin scored.  The Huddersfield Town players were furious, but the referee let the goal stand after consulting with his linesman.  After the match, the Huddersfield chairman said he would appeal to the FA to have the game replayed, but this was to no avail and the result stood, with the Yorkshire side condemned to the Second Division at the end of the season.
