Jaden Williams hit five goals as Spurs Under-18s trounced Birmingham City 7-0 at Hotspur Way.

It was the visitors who had the first chance, when Aaron Maguire was called into action after four minutes to make a double stop to deny Kieran Wakefield, with Jordan Hackett heading a follow-up off the line.

26 minutes into the first half, Jaden Williams produced an unexpected shot wide that landed just over the bar, but when Max McKnight’s pass found him in the penalty area, he coolly finished three minutes after his earlier chance.  On the half hour, Wakefield had another chance but was stymied by the combined efforts of Maguire and Alfie Dorrington, allowing Tottenham to break away for Williams to add a second when he swept the ball in past the keeper Alfie Brooks.

Archie Chaplin, promoted from the Under-16s, went close with a shot just before the break, but two minutes after the teams kicked off again, it was Williams who completed his hat-trick with a deflected shot that nestled in the net just inside the post.  When Jaden was fouled by Carsley in the area, he got up to convert from the spot in the 51st minute.

George Abbott made it 5-0 with 58 minutes gone, as McKnight made a determined run on the right wing and his ball inside was worked through Rio Kyerematen and Williams to allow the Spurs midfielder to continue his run onto the ball, delivering it into the top corner of the net.  Sam Amo-Ameyaw and Riley Owen combined but the latter was thwarted by a Birmingham defender, but Owen did make a strong run forward to feed Williams in the box on the right and he finished with panache from a narrow angle in the 68th minute.

Williams turned creator in the 73rd minute, when his through pass was slid past the Brum goalie by Kyerematen to round off the 7-0 win.

Spurs Under-18s travelled to Birmingham City’s Wast Hills training ground to meet the Blues in a Premier Under-18 League match that the home side won 3-2 in the final minute of the match.

A strong start by the home side was made to count when they took the lead after six minutes after, when Rico Patterson bent a free-kick past Thimothee Lo-Tutala’s left hand.  Having gone ahead, Birmingham allowed Spurs back into the match and on 16 minutes, Max McKnight took the ball into the box and picked out riley Owen on the left, from where he placed a shot into the opposite bottom corner of the goal to equalise.

Halfway through the first half, Jaden Williams sliced a shot wide after being put in by Owen and Birmingham also threatened, with Hall forcing Lo-Tutala into a save when clean through.  Williams and Rio Kyerematen worked an opening for Owen, but his shot lacked enough power to trouble Blues keeper Brooks.  When Owen had another opportunity on 39 minutes, he made finished decisively from eight yards following a run by Kyerematen through the home back line.

Birmingham started the second half with great determination, with Spurs keeper Lo-Tutala dominating in the air to take high balls into the area, but with just 20 minutes left, Wakefield broke through our defensive lines to poke the ball in to make it 2-2.  Sensing that the game was there for the taking, Hall twice had openings which he failed to hit the target with and Jordan picked out Lo-Tutala from distance.  In the 88th minute, substitute Brandon Bryan-Waugh smashed a shot at goal that Brooks did well to push over the bar, but a minute later Bellingham headed in at the other end to keep the points in the Midlands.

Spurs beat Birmingham City Under-18s on a Friday morning at Spurs Lodge.

A strong start by the visitors saw Jonathan Miles push a shot from Omar Bogle onto the post in the eighth minute, but he could not stop the Blues taking the lead two minutes after, when a Daniel Preston header was powered past him.

A surging run by Zaine Francis-Angol set up Alex Pritchard to shoot over, but with half an hour gone, good work from Pritchard and Waller-Lassen saw Francis-Angol time his run to perfection to meet a ball in and strike it inside the post from the edge of the box to equalise.

In the second half, Spurs dominated to take the game to Birmingham and both Pritchard and substitute Kudus Oyenuga went close to scoring before Pritchard struck an unstoppable 25 yard drive into the top corner in the 80th minute.  Spurs nearly added a third, when Jack Munns went within inches of scoring two minutes after Pritchard’s goal and Birmingham were kept at bay with their only chance of note falling to Callum Reilly, but he snatched at his shot and the ball went wide.

Birmingham City’s Academy side put Tottenham to the sword with a 6-0 home win.  A young Spurs side ended the game and the back four was made up of players playing out of position because of injuries, but it was Birmingham striker Akwasi Asante who out-muscled our defenders to grab five of City’s six goals, with four of them in the first half.

Spurs had played some good football, holding the ball and earning a penalty which bounced back from Jesse Waller-Lassen’s spot-kick, but they couldn’t stop Asante, who got two more goals in the 75th minute and in added time to add to his first half hat-trick.

Three Spurs Academy player scored a piece apiece in a 6-2 away win over Birmingham City.

It took 20 minutes to break through the Brum defence, with Kudos Oyenuga getting away to beat the keeper to give Tottenham the lead.  Paul McBride doubled the advantage before the break, when he finished well following good build up play through the midfield.

The influential Tom Carroll produced a chance for McBride to finish well on 55 minutes, with Birmingham hitting back with a goal after an hour following some slack marking.  Substitute Harry Kane scored just after coming on and then grabbed a second with about ten minutes remaining.  The home side scored from a free-kick, although Tottenham wrapped up the match with a sixth goal a minute before the final whistle, as Carroll freed Kane, whose shot was saved but fell to Oyengua to score from the rebound.

An injury-hit Spurs team lost two players during the game, but came back from being behind twice to win 3-2 against Birmingham City at Spurs Lodge.

Jesse Waller-Lassen and Paul Jose M’Poku both struck the woodwork inside the opening ten minutes before Spurs were hit by conceding a soft penalty to allow City to take the lead and then a sickening clash of heads saw Anton Blackwood go off with concussion, while team-mate Olumide Durojaiye was rushed to hospital just after half an hour of the match had elapsed.

Tottenham could have equalised from the spot when Waller-Lassen was brought down in the area, but M’Poku’s penalty was saved two minutes after the restart.  However, Kudos Oyenuga finally got Spurs level, tapping in Sam Cox’s cross just outside the six yard box, only for Birmingham to go ahead once more with a good goal from one of only a handful of chances they made in the second half.

Winger Ryan Fredericks hit a fine equaliser with 15 minutes left, as he came inside from the right to hit a left foot shot past the Blues keeper.  It was left to substitute Tom Carroll, who left his left back position to exchange passes and bend a shot, using the outside of his left foot, into the far corner with just five minutes remaining.

Spurs fielded a side with five players new to this level (Zaine Francis-Angol, Olumide Durojaiye, Jesse Waller-Lassen, Paul McBride and Alex Pritchard), but still came out 2-0 winners at Birmingham City.

A couple of chances went begging before a Jake Nicholson corner found Harry Kane, who headed back across goal for Ajet Shehu to score after about 20 minutes.  Debutant Mirko Ranieri made a fine stop to keep Spurs ahead and in the second half, two of the other new starters Paul McBride and Alex Pritchard worked a good move for Pritchard to finish off the former’s cross with about 88 minutes on the clock.

The win put four points between Spurs and second placed Leicester City in Group B of the Premier Academy League Group B.

A third clean sheet and a third big win keeps Spurs on course for a top placing in the FA Premier Academy league table.

A fierce John Bostock shot from outside of the penalty area gave Tottenham the perfect start and when Jon Obika was fouled in the penalty area, Ryan Mason stepped up to score from the spot.  With Nathan Byrne’s far post finish making it 3-0 at half-time, Spurs were in the driving seat.

It allowed Spurs to maintain possession and moving the ball around so well, they created more chances.  Using the width of the pitch, a fine flowing move ended with Sam Cox crossing for Jon Obika to score the fourth and Ryan Mason wrapped up the 5-0 home win later in the second half.

A single goal from Dean Parrett gave Tottenham’s Academy side the victory over Birmingham City at Spurs Lodge. The young midfielder took his chance after an hour, when he netted a rebound off the keeper from his own initial shot to make the crucial breakthrough.  The conditions were not conducive to good football and Spurs had to battle and could have added to their lead, but had to put in a good defensive display at the end, when the Blues pushed hard for an equaliser.

Having gone behind to a well-worked early goal from Birmingham City, Spurs roared back to win the FA Premier Academy League match 4-1, as Tomas Pekhart added a hat-trick to his impressive goal tally.

The Czech striker equalised quickly after he chased to close the keeper down and he blocked his clearance, allowing him to run the ball into an empty net.  He made it 2-1 with a header from Cian Hughton’s cross and netting with a firm shot from 18 yards out, he put Spurs further ahead before the break to claim the match ball.

In form Jake Livermore was released by a through ball from Jamie Davis and he coolly finished to make the score 4-1 early in the second half.

With a sterling performance by the Birmingham goalkeeper and the help of the woodwork to deny Matthew Wells, Birmingham won this Academy League match 2-0, with goals after 15 and 85 minutes. Spurs had two opportunities in the first five minutes when they opened up the Birmingham defence to be through one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

However, after 15 minutes a header from a dead-ball situation saw Spurs go 1-0 down.  Wells was denied ten minutes later when a 20-yarder was touched onto the crossbar and the ball bounced out.  Terry Dixon went close with a header from a set-piece.

While Spurs were solid in the second half,  the home side scored a second with five minutes of the game left.
