10.02.1997 Clarence Park hosted the Football Combination match between Spurs Reserves and Bournemouth Reserves that ended in a draw.

Tottenham suffered from the dodgy playing surface that hampered their passing game, and found it difficult to find a way past the five-man Bournemouth back line.  It was 20 minutes into the game when Paul McVeigh got the side’s first shot on target, but it was straight at the Cherries keeper.  On the half hour, it was McVeigh who created a shooting opportunity for Danny Hill, who saw his effort come off the crossbar.

When Spurs had the wind at their backs in the second half, it looked as though they might have already done the hard work, but a failure to clear a Bournemouth attack saw the visitors capitalise and take the lead.  It was a struggle to create much and Simon Wormull went close, although it was only late in the match that Tottenham equalised when Simon Webb’s corner was bundled over the line by Leon Townley.

28.08.1971 Spurs Reserves protected their record of not letting in a goal so far this season with a 3-0 home Football Combination win over Bournemouth.

Some of the credit for the clean sheet goes to Barry Daines, who made a couple of good stops to prevent Bournemouth scoring, while at the other end, Ron Tilsted made a good save from John Cutbush and Roy Woolcott hit the crossbar, but he was helpless when Ray Clarke headed Cutbush’s cross into the net to give Spurs a half-time lead.

Soon after the interval, a handball in the area gave Graeme Souness the opportunity to extend the lead from the spot and then a late corner fell to the Scot to score the goal that made it 3-0 from close range after Peter Collins had chested the ball down for him.
