| 16.01.2026 | Premier League 2 Away Drew 1-1
Spurs made the journey to Leyland to play Burnley Under-21s on a Friday night, earning a 1-1 draw in a Premier League 2 match. Never having played the Lancashire side previously, a chilly evening greeted the Spurs youngsters and Tynan Thompson had the first shot, fired over after coming inside from the left wing. The home striker MacMahon-Brown had fired a shot across goal before Burnley took the lead in the 17th minute when Zach Johnson found the net to Gunter’s right from a cross. Spurs pulled the game level when Reiss Russell-Denny put a ball into the box that was half-cleared and James Rowswell drilled it into the net from near the penalty spot with ten minutes to go to half-time. Five minutes into the second half, Thompson played the ball in to Russell-Denny, who teed it up for Luca Williams-Barnett for fire in a fierce effort that the keeper did very well to turn aside. Brierley was booked for a bad foul on Thompson and Spurs had a lucky escape when Malachi Hardy played a loose pass across the pitch to Tom Tweedy about 40 yards out and his first-time lob over Gunter dropped onto the post and back into the keeper’s arms in the 71st minute. Hardy played a good pass to put Luca-Furnell-Gill in on goal and he tried to chip the keeper, but it went over the bar with Ellis Lehane free in the middle. Johnson then put another shot across the face of the goal before Thompson was booked with three minutes left. A well timed tackled from Jun’ai Byfield prevented Burnley getting another shot away in the last minute, with a Burnley corner in the second minute of added time going over off the top of the crossbar.
