A war-time guest goalkeeper, Frank Boulton played only a single match for Spurs.

The keeper started his career playing for Bristol City and Bath City.  At the age of 19, he signed for Arsenal in October 1936, spending two years at Highbury where he made 36 league appearances before he was on the move to Derby County in August 1938.  In the 1938-39 season, he made 39 appearances and also played the first three opening games of the following season before World War II brought the campaign to a halt.

Boulton made one appearance for Chelsea in the 1941-1942 season and played for Spurs at White Hart Lane against Chelsea in October 1944.  The keeper went on to guest for Swansea Town, Fulham, Watford, Aldershot and Crystal Palace.  He went back to Derby County after the war but was unfortunate enough to miss a place in the FA Cup Final of 1946 because he was injured and Vic Woodley, another Tottenham war-time guest player, was signed (ironically from Bath City) to appear between the sticks at Wembley, helping the Rams to a 4-1 victory.

Without much chance of breaking into the first team at the Baseball Ground, Swindon Town was his next stop in July 1946 and he turned out in 97 league games for the Robins before his last league club was Crystal Palace and Frank then ended his playing career at Bedford Town in February 1951.

Frank Boulton died in June 1987 in Swindon, Wiltshire, England.
