Manor Solomon
Winger 2023-
Full name : – Manor Solomon
Born on 24th July 1999 in Kafr Saba, Israel.
Height : 1.7 m (5′ 7″)
Weight : kg (st lbs)
Powerful and diminutive winger Manor Solomon is a speedy player who works hard for the team. Operating on the left wing, he often comes inside to shoot and score.
Manor started off his career in his homeland with his hometown club Hapoel Kfar Saba in their youth system, before stepping up to join Maccabi Petah Tikvah in 2008, from where he made the transition from youth team player to first-teamer, making his debut at 17 in 2016. The following year he received a call-up to the national side, but in 2018, at the age of 18, he made his Israel debut.
Undertaking his National Service in Israel in 2017, his performances at club and international level brought him to the attention of Shakhtar Donetsk, who paid 6 million Euros for the winger in January 2019. His integration into the side was made during the remainder of that season, after which he was a regular in the team and scored important Champions League goals away at Manchester City in a 1-1 draw and the winner in a 3-2 victory over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
Unfortunately, his time in Ukraine was brought to a juddering halt by the Russian invasion of the country and he had to flee in a fifteen hour car journey to the Polish border and then a long wait to be collected. Solomon had moved to Shakhtar from football in Israel for a new challenge and to improve as a player, but to continue playing he agreed to join Fulham on loan for the 2022-2023 season, where he made an impact after suffering an ankle injury in training the day after his debut that kept him out for five months. He scored five goals in 24 games and it was the pace and ability to come in off the touch-line that marked him out as a key player for the West Londoners in their progress to the FA Cup quarter-final last season. His five goals were scored in a rich vein of form in five successive matches for the Cottagers.
With FIFA ruling that foreign players were given the ability to terminate their contracts with clubs in Ukraine because of the invasion continuing, Tottenham looked to snap up the Israeli international as Manchester City held an interest in him when playing at Maccabi Petah Tikva, but wouldn’t stump up £9 million for him and in 2021, Arsenal looked at signing Manor, but baulked at the £21 million Shakhtar were asking for him.
