24.08.2024 Tottenham ruthlessly punished a young Fulham Under-18 side on their League visit to Motspur Park.

Ellis Lehane gave Spurs a 10th minute lead, lofting the through ball from Luca Williams-Barnett over the keeper Marco Underwood, as he rushed out of his goal.  The home side pulled level with 22 minutes gone, as Basmil Lubega finished a move from the back to the front, with Seth Ridgeon providing the assist.

The second half was a different proposition for Fulham, as Tottenham dominated the play.  It took six minutes for Spurs to regain the lead, as Calum Logan read a poor pass out from the back and fed the ball to Williams-Barnett who picked a pass to Ronnie Moncur, who buried his shot from 12 yards out.

It was 3-1 two minutes later as Lehane’s flick caught Williams-Barnett off balance, but he adjusted to finish clinically.  With 70 minutes on the clock, Moncur crossed dangerously and the keeper could only palm the ball out to Herbie James, who rounded off a fine performance with  a neat finish.  When Tynan Thompson picked off a poor pass, he put the ball across for midfielder George Feeney to steer home to seal a 5-1 win.

05.03.2022 A single goal settled an Under-18 Premier League meeting with Fulham at Hotspur Way.

Oscar Sanderson’s first half strike settled the game and the Fulham striker had gone close early on, but was denied by Spurs keeper Aaron Maguire, with both players needing treatment after one collision.  Jaden Williams put a header well off target from Rio Kyerematen’s free-kick with 11 minutes on the clock and then Fulham keeper blocked Williams’ shot to deny him the opening goal.  Jamie Donley had only just seen a shot saved by Allen before Tottenham were hit with a sucker punch.  Maguire was busy, keeping out Sanderson’s shot at his near post and then using his feet to keep out a downward header. but the Fulham forward was not to be denied, eventually beating Maguire from Terrell Works’ cross with 35 minutes gone.

There were few moments of goal threats in the second period, but Okkas brought a block from Archie Chaplin before Jahziah Linton hit a 20 yard shot that the Fulham keeper held easily.  There were a couple of glimpses of goal for Lanqedoc and Okkas, but they came to nothing and the game meandered to a narrow defeat for Tottenham.

27.11.2021 This Under-18 Premier League Cup match at Motspur Park saw Tottenham already unable to progress from the group they were in and they suffered a 0-4 defeat at the hands of Fulham’s Under-18s.

Being 0-3 behind at the break as a result of Jaylan Wildbore sliding in a 16th minute goal, Ollie Sanderson having time to pick his post to beat Adam Hayton, who had been playing well to keep the score down, on 27 and then, in the 34th minute, George Okkas picking off a Hayton pass and lobbed the keeper who was off his line.

Spurs hit the post from a free-kick shortly after the break, but Imani Lanquedoc scored Fulham’s fourth in the 55th minute from inside the six yard box.  Tottenham’s substitutions brought a new momentum to the side and Max McKnight’s cross was headed out from under his own crossbar by Xavier Benjamin.  Spurs had late chances when Jaden Williams was prevented from getting a shot away by two defenders and Khalon Haysman put a shot wide, but it was Fulham who finished the stronger and only three good saves from Hayton stopped Fulham making the winning margin even bigger.

14.08.2021 Tottenham’s season opener at Motspur Park ended in a 2-4 defeat by Fulham’s Under-18s.

Oliver Sanderson struck a curling shot into the top corner from the edge of the area after only nine minutes to set the tone for the Cottagers’ performance.  Renaldo Torraj responded for Spurs with a low drive, but keeper Alex Borto tipped it around the post and then thwarted Rio Kyerematen after he was put through by Jamie Donley.

Fulham went further ahead after 33 minutes when Delano McCoy-Splatt pulled the ball back for Imani Lanquedoc to score.  The same Fulham player was denied just before half-time when captain Alfie Dorrington toed the ball away when it looked as if he might score again.

Spurs started the second half more sprightly and when Jaden Williams was pushed in the penalty area, Jamie Donley fired the resulting spot-kick straight down the middle to reduce the arrears.  That was after 53 minutes, but Fulham went back two goals ahead three minutes later with Michael Olakigbe converting Lanquedoc’s pull back and a further three minutes on, Spurs pulled a goal back when Donley provided the chance for Williams to shoot home from the edge of the six-yard box.

With six minutes left, Olakigbe scored from a narrow angle and although Jamie Donley had a chance in time added on, his volley from Jahziah Linton’s cross went into the ground and bounced just over the bar.

Tottenham’s unbeaten seven match run came to an end at Motspur Park, when Fulham’s Under-18s won 2-1.

A 20th minute header from a corner gave Fulham the lead, but 15 minutes later Kudus Oyenuga scored from the penalty spot to level the score, following the keeper’s foul on Paul McBride.

Spurs might have had a penalty in the second half, when Oyenuga was fouled close to the 18 yard line, but a poor piece of defending handed Fulham a spot-kick, which they converted to make it 2-1 and that was the way it stayed, although Shaquille Coulthirst did hit the post near the end.

19.09.2009
While manager Alex Inglethorpe was not pleased with the 90 minute performance, he admitted that the Spurs team were “excellent in patches” in the 6-1 win against Fulham.  With much of the play Tottenham put together being well-intentioned, it was not always put into practice as they would have hoped, but they did make it count where it mattered, starting with Harry Kane going close and Kudus Oyenuga striking the upright before Kane took the ball, turned sharply and fired home from inside the penalty area with 24 minutes gone.  Spurs were denied by the woodwork again as Paul McBride hit the bar, but Adam Smith stepped up from his full back position to drive home as 25 yarder low into the bottom corner.

Five minutes before the break Oyenuga took a pass from Kane and buried it into the opposite corner of the net after pulling the ball onto his right foot and coming inside his marker to make it 3-0 at the interval.

Jamie Butler was on his toes early in the second half to keep Fulham out and then Paul Jose M’Poku went close to adding to the score on two occasions – hitting a free-kick narrowly wide and then having a header cleared off the goal-line, before Ryan Fredericks crossed from the right to Jesse Waller-Lassen to put his header out of the reach of the keeper.

Marcello Trotta pulled a goal back for Fulham at 4-1, but a shot from an acute angle by Waller-Lassen made it 5-1 and near the end, M’Poku took possession of the ball in midfield, slipped it through to Fredericks and he raced past a defender to drill home from 16 yards out and make the final score 6-1.

Teams :
Spurs –  Jamie Butler, Adam Smith, Calum Butcher (Olumide Durojaye 46), Nathan Byrne, Zaine Francis-Angol (Anton Blackwood 73), Ryan Fredericks, Jake Nicholson, Paul-Jose M’Poku, Harry Kane, Paul McBride (Jesse Waller-Lassen 67), Kudus Oyenuga.

Tottenham’s Under-18s won 4-1 at Fulham in the FA Premier Academy League to maintain their fine form this season.

Five games remain and the side are now top of the table thanks to a good performance in a strong wind that saw them lead 2-0 at the break.  Adam Smith opened the scoring in the 25th minute, as he struck home from a tight angle and it was the defender who got forward again to be brought down in the box for a penalty.  Ryan Mason converted to double the lead.

Spurs created a number of other opportunities, but it was Fulham who scored next to peg the score back to 2-1 in the 50th minute.  They pushed for the equaliser and Jamie Butler made a good save to keep the one goal advantage.  With 70 minutes gone, Tottenham made it 3-1 when Nathan Byrne cut inside from wide on the left before beating a couple of players and hitting the net from 20 yards out.

With 15 minutes left on the clock, Kudos Oyenuga took Yaser Kasim’s pass through the defence and took it around the keeper before sliding it home to take the score 4-1, which is how it finished.

25.11.1989 Although Spurs travelled to Motspur Park to face a weakened Fulham Youth side, they put in a very good performance to win 6-0.

A frantic goalmouth incident in the 15th minute involved five goal-line blocks before Anthony Potts found the net, with his second following five minutes later with a well-taken volley from Kevin Smith’s pass.  It was Kevin Smith who scored to make it 3-0 with 35 minutes gone after he exchanged passes with Mark Hall.  It was four before half-time, when Scott Houghton made a run across the penalty area before hitting a shot into the net.

Two Potts goals in the second half took his personal total to four in the match and wrapped up the 6-0 win.  His 55th minute header finished a good team move and twenty minutes from time, he scored following a long-throw from Kevin Smith.

18.03.1989 A Youth match between Spurs and Fulham at Chase Lodge in the South-East Counties Division 1 saw Tottenham emerge 3-0 winners.

It was another case of good opportunities not being taken for Spurs in a strong opening to the match but the second half proved a different matter.  Hung Dang was introduced at half-time and he opened the scoring with a close range tap-in and that opened the way for two David Tuttle goals in four minutes to put the game out of the Cottagers’ reach, with the visitors only having one effort throughout the match, mainly due to Tottenham good defensive work.

Dale Tempest gave Fulham the lead with just a few minutes left before half-time, but it was soon after the restart that Tottenham equalised, with Ally Dick scoring an excellent solo goal.  His run down the right saw him cut the ball back from the dead-ball line to make space to shoot past the Fulham keeper.

Coming back from 0-2 behind, Tottenham Youth won the points against Fulham in the South East Counties division 1 match at Cheshunt.

Turning round a goal behind, Spurs were quickly 0-2 down shortly after half-time, as the players found a new system difficult to adapt to.  Once the team adjusted to it, they started to put together some good moves and Mike Flanagan’s header made it 1-2.  When Gary Mabee was felled in the box, Ray Clarke confidently converted from the spot to level the score.

Breaking forward with a sprint past a couple of players and then smashing the ball in from 20 yards, Les Boughey proved to be the match-winner for Tottenham.
