09.09.1989 A 4-0 win for Spurs Reserves over Luton Town at White Hart Lane came with a very good team display.

A well-taken goal by Mark Robson opened the scoring, coming in from the left wing to clip the ball over Les Sealey, before Paul Moran raced onto a through ball and lobbed the ball over the stranded keeper.  Robson and Moran worked a good move for the latter to drive in the third Tottenham goal, with substitute Richard Johnston scoring to make the final score 4-0.

White Hart Lane hosted a Football Combination where Spurs Reserves met Luton Town Reserves’ and it was the visitors who took the points with a 2-1 win.

Garry Brooke had shot Spurs ahead, drilling in Ian Crook’s cross in the 23rd minute, with Brooke and Robert Brace both having opportunities to extend the lead without luck.  Soon after the second half started, the Hatters survived two goal-line clearances from efforts by Brooke and Paul Price, but they made the most of their good fortune to equalise through Tim Breacker in the 68th minute.  It was the same player who netted the winner for the away team with ten minutes remaining on the clock.

28.03.1981 Spurs Reserves failed to capitalise on a good start and allowed Luton Town into the match before stepping up their game in the second half to win 3-1 at home.

When Terry Gibson was brought down in the box, Mark Falco converted the resulting penalty, but a hamstring injury to Gary O’Reilly brought Pat Corbett on as  Spurs let the Hatters back into the game when Frankie Bunn levelled just before half-time.  However, in the second half Tottenham took more control and another foul on Gibson allowed Micky Hazard to score direct from a free-kick after the break and in the 78th minute, Falco scored again to complete the win.

Spurs v Luton Town Youth Match Reports

.
19.10.1991 A disappointing defensive performance saw Luton Town leave with a 4-0 win in the South East Counties Division Two.

Manager Pat Holland played with a sweeper to try and stiffen the back four, but it did not work out for the side and having gone 0-2 behind in the first half, the side reverted to a flat back four but there was little going forward for Tottenham, so Andrew Marlowe was pushed forward.  However, this left Spurs light at the back and Luton exploited this to run out 4-0 winners, with Marlowe’s performance the only positive from the game.

03.09.1988 Luton Town’s Juniors were more physical and more experienced than the Spurs Juniors when the South-East Counties Division 2 match ended in a 6-2 home win for the young Hatters.

Played on the difficult Kenilworth Road plastic pith, the home team adapted their game to the conditions and although Neil Carey scored both Tottenham goals, it wasn’t enough on the day against a side who dominated the Spurs Juniors.

19.11.1983 Luton Town Youth fought back from a goal down to earn a home draw with Spurs Youth.

While Spurs dominated the first half, they had to wait until nearly half an hour before taking the lead when Danny Maddix rounded the keeper to slip the ball into the net.  Maddix went close again, hitting the goal-post, but it was a goal coming from a free-kick in the final few minutes that earned the Hatters a point in a match where both teams played exciting, adventurous football.
