1961 Spurs faced Leicester City at Wembley in the FA Cup Final needing to win to become the first team to achieve “The Double” in the 20th century.  Despite some scintillating football played during the League season, this was a disappointing finale to the campaign and with Leicester’s chances being hampered when Chalmers sustained an injury, Spurs won without playing well.  Bobby Smith gave Spurs the lead with a fierce shot and a Terry Dyson header wrapped the match up for Spurs.
