This postcard of Jimmy Chipperfield printed by photographer George A. Laver of Bensham Studios, 2 Bensham Manor Road, Thornton Heath possibly taken around 1923.

Laver took photos of local sites, people and of Charlton Athletic footballers and while the writing on the reverse of the card states it is of “Jimmy Chipperfield Tottenham Hotspur”, this one could well be from Jimmy’s time at the Valley, thus the dark shirt he is wearing and not the white of Spurs, which the subject of most other player portraits have on.
