| Once more, our thanks go to Terry Newman for this photo of a postcard from around 1908 of John Cameron, the Spurs forward. The card may well have been issued along with Cameron’s booklet “Association Football and How To Play It”, which was published in 1908. The booklet was an instructional publication on the game in general and the skills needed if it was to become a profession for the reader. There were a series of plates used in the booklet – one of which is the one on the postcard above. The printers were Health & Strength Ltd who were based at 12 Burleigh St, London W.C. The card was sized 88 mm x 140mm. |
