Batger & Co. Ltd put out a series of 30 cards in their “Famous Football Clubs” issue.  However, only 18 cards have been found.
Tottenham Hotspur were No. 2 in the series.
These cards are rare because many were redeemed to take advantage of the prize offered on the reverse for complete sets to be returned to Batger’s.
Those that were sent back for the 10 shillings (50p) prize were either stamped “Cancelled” on the reverse or had corners cut off.

Batger & Co. was a confectionery manufacturer situated in East London from 1784 until they were bought out by
Needlers in 1970 when production moved to Hull.
