29.09.2010 | Friendly Home Won 4-0
After a goal-less first half, the young Spurs XI turned on the style to run out 4-0 winners over Norwich City at Spurs Lodge in this friendly match. Tim Sherwood was disappointed with his charges’ first half performance and read them the riot act at half-time, so the change in approach was not surprising. Oscar Jansson had been required to make a couple of saves in the first half, but Tottenham had efforts on goal with Jose-Paul Mpoku hitting the woodwork and new Brazilian signing Sandro was unlucky when his attempt on goal was cleared off the line. However, five minutes into the second half, Kudus Oyenuga opened the scoring with a simple finish after Harry Kane had taken the ball around the keeper and laid it on for his fellow striker. The lead was doubled as Nathan Byrne was released after some neat inter-play between Kyle Naughton and Mpoku, leaving the winger to take on two defenders in the penalty area before his cross was headed onto the bar, with the rebound being knocked in by Tom Carroll. 15 minutes from the end, Carroll turned provider and Kane got on the end of his pass to slip the ball past the keeper as he faced up to the forward. A 4-0 victory was wrapped up in the 83rd minute, as Jesse Waller-Lassen squeezed the ball home from a tight angle. Teams : |

19.03.1997 | A first win in five games gave Spurs Reserves a boost as they overcame Norwich City with a 3-2 away win.
Off to a good start, Spurs dominated play in the early stages, with Mark Janney sent through by Garry Brady to have a good opportunity. Danny Hill went close before Fenn put Janney through, only to be denied by a good stop by the keeper. Fenn exchanged passes to set up Peter Gain to open the scoring, before Paul McVeigh went close to adding a second, but the game turned. In the last 15 minutes of the first half, Spurs conceded twice to leave them trailing at the break, having had the better of the 45 minutes. The Tottenham team got level when Hill and Brady linked well to produce a cross to the far post by Hill and Janney headed it back for McVeigh to hit the net. With the impetus with Tottenham, the home side were vulnerable to breaks and when Hill went past a few players, he laid it in to Gain, whose shot was straight at the keeper. Chances came and went, so it was with only two minutes remaining that substitute Simon Webb burst into the box, where he was fouled. That gave Neale Fenn the opportunity to win the game from the penalty spot, which he took with confidence. Teams : |

With five minutes remaining, City got a goal back through full back Adrian Pennock, who cracked in a shot after Ruel Fox had held the ball well on the edge of the area and laid it back into the defender’s path. Teams : |

Spurs were caught out just 30 seconds into the second half when Fleck scored his second goal. Spurs began to dominate the remainder of the match, but could not find a further goal, although Ian Gilzean’s header came closest when it bounced out off the inside of the post. Teams : |
