11.04.2001 | It was a young Spurs Reserve side that faced Nottingham Forest at White Hart Lane and held them to a 1-1 draw.
Tottenham lost Dave McEwen after seven minutes with a facial injury and later Matthew Etherington left the field with a knock to make life difficult for Spurs. It was McEwen’s replacement Steven Ferguson who put Spurs ahead in the 15th minute, as he flipped a long ball up over Barry Roche and then headed the ball into an empty net. Yannick Kamanan almost made it 2-0 when Roche blocked his shot, but the Frenchman got the rebound, only to see his shot bounce off the goalpost. Six minutes into the second half, Forest pulled the score back to 1-1, as Bernard Allou struck a shot precisely past Ian Walker. There was still chances to win it for Spurs, with Kamanan, Jackson and Etherington all going close, but the game finished 1-1. Teams : |
