11.04.2001 It was a young Spurs Reserve side that faced Nottingham Forest at White Hart Lane and held them to a 1-1 draw.

Tottenham lost Dave McEwen after seven minutes with a facial injury and later Matthew Etherington left the field with a knock to make life difficult for Spurs.

It was McEwen’s replacement Steven Ferguson who put Spurs ahead in the 15th minute, as he flipped a long ball up over Barry Roche and then headed the ball into an empty net. Yannick Kamanan almost made it 2-0 when Roche blocked his shot, but the Frenchman got the rebound, only to see his shot bounce off the goalpost.

Six minutes into the second half, Forest pulled the score back to 1-1, as Bernard Allou struck a shot precisely past Ian Walker. There was still chances to win it for Spurs, with Kamanan, Jackson and Etherington all going close, but the game finished 1-1.

21.11.2000 FA Premier Reserve League     Away     Won     3-1

Tottenham Reserves’ Tuesday trip to Nottingham proved profitable, as they beat Forest Reserves 3-1.With Sol Campbell making a return from a shoulder injury, he was expected to make all the news, but, in fact, it was Willem Korsten’s treble that caught the eye.

It was the Spurs Reserves’ first away win of the season and they were well worth the victory.  Matthew Etherington and Korsten both went tested keeper Barry Roche in the early part of the match, but it was the home side who went in front on 34 minutes when a good move was finished off by Gareth Edds who headed past Ian Walker.

The second half of the game was dominated by Tottenham starting six minutes after half-time when Simon Davies picked out Korsten with a pass that the Dutchman took past a defender before slotting past the keeper to make it 1-1.  When Willem was fouled in the box ten minutes after the goal, Chris Armstrong’s spot-kick was saved by Roche, but it didn’t stop Korsten, who rifled a shot in to put Spurs ahead and then finished off Forest with a curling shot from 30 yards out.
