23.09.1978 Leigh Cooper gave Spurs Reserves a Football Combination shock when he put Plymouth Argyle Reserves into a 17th minute lead at White Hart Lane.

It didn’t take too long for Spurs to equalise, when Steve Brennan put through his own goal and a minute later, Mark Falco had turned the score-line around to make it 2-1 to Tottenham with a header.  There was plenty of action at both ends, but Spurs had to wait until the 87th minute to extend the lead further, when Paul Bowgett glanced a header in and then, in the last minute, Micky Hazard shot at goal and when goalkeeper Neil Hards was unable to hold the ball, Falco put the loose ball into the Plymouth goal with the last kick of the game.

22.01.1972 Spurs Reserves earned a 1-0 home win over Plymouth Argyle Reserves in the Football Combination.

Only a deflected David Jenkins shot halfway through the second half separated the teams and it was disappointing that more goals did not come Tottenham’s way.  Argyle keeper Jim Furnell twice made saves at point blank range from Jimmy Pearce in the first half, then in the second 45 minutes, Peter Collins shot over the bar from close range and Roy Woolcott headed a chance wide. The visiting goalie also denied Graeme Souness three times and then the Scottish midfielder was denied when his shot bounced off the goal-post.

11.02.2009
Tottenham won a muddy match at Home Park 3-0 to win this FA Youth Cup Fifth Round tie.

The first chance of the game came in the ninth minute, when Ryan Mason made a run into the left side of the penalty box and slid a ball across the box, but his ball went between Jon Obika and Stephen Caulker.  Just before the quarter hour, Mason took Parrett’s pass and hit a shot towards Brooks’ near post, but the keeper beat the ball away for a corner.

It was 19 minutes into the game when Spurs took the lead, as Mason finished from 10 yards after being put in by Andros Townsend’s pass from the right.  In the 27th minute, Mason was on hand to preserve the lead, when he cleared off the line as Head headed Young’s corner on target.  Ten minutes before the break, Tottenham doubled the lead with Paul-Jose M’poku converted from the edge of the area with a curling shot after intercepting a defender’s pass.

At the other end, Nathan Byrne deflected Edwards’ shot wide and then, Hodgkinson did the same to deny Bostock at the Plymouth end.

Plymouth started the second half with a determination to get back into the match, but Joe Mason hit a fierce shot wide and then a free-kick from Kinsella was easily taken by Jansson in the Spurs goal.  Four minutes into the half, a free-kick from Townsend dropped for M’poku and Butcher in on goal, with the Plymouth defence pushing up for offside, but neither were able to get a decent contact on the ball.  Then Spurs hit the woodwork in the 50th minute, when Mason smashed a shot from 12 yards out against the bar.

Six minutes later, Obika was alive to some loose defending and found M’poku, who shot past the keeper from the left side of the box to make it 3-0.

It was all Spurs after that as Caulker had a 59th minute header cleared off the line by Edwards, Bostock struck a shot just wide after an hour and then goalkeeper Brooks stopped an accurate 66th minute effort from Townsend, then again denied Mason and Perrett a minute later.  The goalie was there again four minutes from time to make a brave stop at the feet of substitute Oyenuga.
