Rory Allen Young striker who played only a few games at Spurs, moved on to Portsmouth before he walked away from the game after a number of injuries.

Darren Anderton Starred in the FA Cup run of 1991-1992 when Portsmouth reached the semi against Liverpool and Tottenham bought the winger for £2 million that included Paul Walsh as part of the deal.  Had signed professional terms with Pompey in February 1990 and had scored seven league goals in 62 games for the Second Division side when he was bought by Spurs for £1.75 million in June 1992.  Made 299 Premier League appearances, finding the net 34 times, before leaving for Birmingham City in August 2004.

Garry Brady Young winger who never really made the grade at Tottenham, but made Fratton Park one stop on his way to find first team football. 

Frank Brettell Played and worked with Everton before moving to Liverpool and Bolton.  In March 1898, he took over at Spurs and eased the club through their transition into a Limited Company.  Brought a number of top players to the club and played a major part at the club until he left in February 1899.  Moved onto Portsmouth, where he fulfilled a similar role and stayed until March 1903, when he left for Plymouth Argyle.

Alex “Sandy” Brown Cup Final scorer in 1901 for Spurs.

Michael Brown On loan at Fratton Park from Manchester City, he later played for Spurs from 2004.

Frank Burrows

Guy Butters Came into the Spurs team as a central defender from the youth system.  Signed as a pro with Tottenham in July 1988 and won England Under-21 caps, while making 35 appearances in the league, netting one goal.   Guy eventually got edged out and moved on to Portsmouth in September 1990 for £375,000 to play in the same position there.  Was in the side that won a place in the promotion play-offs in 1992-1993 and in the FA Cup run of 1991-1992. Scored six times in 154 Pompey league matches before he was bought by Gillingham for £225,000 in October 1996.

Sol Campbell Defender who played 315 games at Spurs and then moved on to play at Portsmouth later on in his career.

John Collins Youth system product defender who played only a few games at Spurs, moved on to Portsmouth among other sides.

Freddie Cox Player with Tottenham as a centre half, Freddie scored 24 goals in 138 games for Spurs and served as manager at Portsmouth from August 1958 to February 1961.  

Peter Crouch Never got a chance to feature in the first team at Tottenham, but the lanky striker moved on and passed through Portsmouth after featuring in big money moves.   Twice broke the Portsmouth record for the costliest signing.

Jason Cundy Big centre half who stayed at Tottenham between and was hit by injury, ended his career at Portsmouth.

Charlie Daniels .

Sean Davis Midfielder that Spurs signed from Fulham in July 2004, but his injury-hit time at White Hart Lane saw him play only 17 games before he moved to Fratton Park in January 2006.

Jermain Defoe Spurs sold the striker to Pompey in January 2008 for £9,000,000, but he wanted to re-join Spurs and Harry Redknapp, so Defoe moved out of Fratton Park and back to White Hart Lane in January 2009 for £15,000,000.

Justin Edinburgh Long-serving left back joined Tottenham from Southend United for £150,000 in July 1990.  Won an FA Cup and a League Cup winners medal with Spurs, making 213 league appearances and scoring one goal before he moved to Fratton Park when he was surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane in March 2000 for £175,000.  Retired after suffering injury while at Portsmouth having only been able to play 38 league matches for Pompey. 

Terry Fenwick Player with Tottenham as a defender, a role he also filled with Pompey where he also returned as manager.

Gerry Francis Tottenham appointed Gerry Francis as the club’s manager in 1994, until he was sacked in 1997 and he had played a handful of games for Portsmouth in 1984-85.

Nigel Gibbs

Alex Glen A good goal-scorer, Alex Glen left Notts County in the summer of 1904 to join Southern League Spurs and he went on to score 16 times in 55 games over two seasons until he moved to Southampton.  Spent one season at the Dell, then joined Portsmouth in summer 1907 and played seven times that season before leaving to sign for Brentford.

George Graham Joined Portsmouth in November 1974 from Manchester United in a swap deal for Ron Davies and went on to score five times in 61 appearances in the League before moving on to Crystal Palace in November 1976.  Took over as Spurs manager in October 1998, winning the League Cup in 1999 before leaving the club in March 2001.

Micky Hazard Had two spells at Tottenham (1980-85 and 1993-95) and went to Portsmouth (8 games, 1 goal) as he moved to them from Chelsea and left them to go to Swindon Town.

Ian Hendon Peripheral involvement at Tottenham and was sent out to Portsmouth to gain some experience.

Neil McNab Young Scot who played in the Tottenham midfield and went to Portsmouth to play the same role, returning later as Youth team manager some time later.

Pedro Mendes Bought from Porto in July 2004, he was plagued by injury and bad luck at Tottenham, but the Portugal international made 36 appearances before he was sold to Portsmouth in  January 2006.

John Moncur Spurs midfielder who played a few matches, but found a lot of time out on loan with Portsmouth being one of the clubs he visited.

Paul Moran Skinny winger who was loaned out by Spurs to get him toughened up.  Pompey was one of the places he was loaned out to.

Noe Pamarot Signed by Tottenham from Nice, this strongly built defender made 30 appearances between August 2004 and his move to Portsmouth in January 2006.

Cliff Parker Left winger who played for Portsmouth from 1933 until 1953 winning the 1939 FA Cup with the club.  Played once for Spurs, as a guest, in the wartime League South Cup tie.

Sir Alf Ramsey Started his career at Portsmouth, before moving through another South Coast club to White Hart Lane, where he was a major factor in the 1951 First Division title win.

Harry Redknapp Manager who had two spells at Fratton Park and took the club to a FA Cup win in 2008 left to take over at Tottenham in October 2008.

Wayne Routledge Winger, who played 13 league games on loan from Spurs at Pompey between January and May 2006.

Art Rule A £10 signing from Millwall Athletic in 1899, Rule scored twice on his debut and played seven Southern league matches for Spurs.  Signed for Portsmouth in 1902 and stayed until 1905.

Teddy Sheringham Another who had two spells at THFC.  Firstly when signed for £2.1 million from Nottingham forest in August 1992 and left to move to Manchester United in July 1997.  Returned to Tottenham in July 2001 to tot up a total of 98 Premier League goals in 236 matches for Spurs.  His latter spell ended when Glenn Hoddle decided not to renew his contract and the striker was free to negotiate his transfer to Portsmouth.  scored nine goals in 30 Premier League games for Portsmouth before moving to West Ham in July 2004.

Tim Sherwood Signed for Tottenham from Blackburn Rovers in February 1999 for £3.8 million, Sherwood won and England cap while at the club and was part of the side that lost the League Cup Final to his previous club in 2002.  Played 98 Premier League matches for Spurs and scored 16 goals.  Released by Spurs in January 2003 after falling out of favour and he was picked up by Portsmouth to help their promotion push back to the Premier League in 2002-2003.

Gary Stevens Bought from Brighton in summer 1983, winning the UEFA Cup in 1984 and making over 150 appearances. After missing a lot of playing time at Tottenham, the defender moved to Portsmouth in 1990, but was again hit by injury and retired from the game in 1992, having played around 50 matches for Pompey.

Mark Stimson

Andy Turner Young Spurs winger, who was unhappy at not getting regular first team action, playing 24 matches in four seasons with four goals scored and four loan spells away from the club, so left to go to Portsmouth in 1998, but despite his pace, he failed to establish a place there and after two years moved on.  Played at Crystal Palace, Wolves and Rotherham United before dropping into non-league.  When he finished playing had a number of coaching jobs including the Bangladesh Youth national team.

Solomon Upton Spurs signed winger Solomon Upton from Kettering in 1911 and when he made his debut against Crystal Palace in the London FA Charity Cup, the match was annulled as Tottenham had fielded an ineligible player.  Made only four appearances before he was released in May 1913, whereupon he joined Portsmouth.  Died in 1972.

Paul Walsh Long haired striker had a successful time at Spurs between 1988 and 1991 when he played 136 games and scored 36 goals, before he went to Portsmouth as part of the transfer that brought Darren Anderton to White Hart Lane.  Played 77 games netting 18 goals between 1992 and 1994, before leaving for Manchester City, but returned to Fratton in 1995 to score a further five goals in 22 matches before retiring in 1996.
