Darren Anderton | Starred in the FA Cup run of 1991-1992 when Portsmouth reached the semi against Liverpool and Tottenham bought the winger for £2 million that included Paul Walsh as part of the deal. Had signed professional terms with Pompey in February 1990 and had scored seven league goals in 62 games for the Second Division side when he was bought by Spurs for £1.75 million in June 1992. Made 299 Premier League appearances, finding the net 34 times, before leaving for Birmingham City in August 2004. |

Brought a number of top players to the club and played a major part at the club until he left in February 1899. Moved onto Portsmouth, where he fulfilled a similar role and stayed until March 1903, when he left for Plymouth Argyle. |

Guy Butters | Came into the Spurs team as a central defender from the youth system. Signed as a pro with Tottenham in July 1988 and won England Under-21 caps, while making 35 appearances in the league, netting one goal. Guy eventually got edged out and moved on to Portsmouth in September 1990 for £375,000 to play in the same position there. Was in the side that won a place in the promotion play-offs in 1992-1993 and in the FA Cup run of 1991-1992. Scored six times in 154 Pompey league matches before he was bought by Gillingham for £225,000 in October 1996. |

Won an FA Cup and a League Cup winners medal with Spurs, making 213 league appearances and scoring one goal before he moved to Fratton Park when he was surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane in March 2000 for £175,000. Retired after suffering injury while at Portsmouth having only been able to play 38 league matches for Pompey. |

Alex Glen | A good goal-scorer, Alex Glen left Notts County in the summer of 1904 to join Southern League Spurs and he went on to score 16 times in 55 games over two seasons until he moved to Southampton. Spent one season at the Dell, then joined Portsmouth in summer 1907 and played seven times that season before leaving to sign for Brentford. |

George Graham | Joined Portsmouth in November 1974 from Manchester United in a swap deal for Ron Davies and went on to score five times in 61 appearances in the League before moving on to Crystal Palace in November 1976. Took over as Spurs manager in October 1998, winning the League Cup in 1999 before leaving the club in March 2001. |

Teddy Sheringham | Another who had two spells at THFC. Firstly when signed for £2.1 million from Nottingham forest in August 1992 and left to move to Manchester United in July 1997. Returned to Tottenham in July 2001 to tot up a total of 98 Premier League goals in 236 matches for Spurs. His latter spell ended when Glenn Hoddle decided not to renew his contract and the striker was free to negotiate his transfer to Portsmouth. scored nine goals in 30 Premier League games for Portsmouth before moving to West Ham in July 2004. |

Tim Sherwood | Signed for Tottenham from Blackburn Rovers in February 1999 for £3.8 million, Sherwood won and England cap while at the club and was part of the side that lost the League Cup Final to his previous club in 2002. Played 98 Premier League matches for Spurs and scored 16 goals. Released by Spurs in January 2003 after falling out of favour and he was picked up by Portsmouth to help their promotion push back to the Premier League in 2002-2003. |

Andy Turner | Young Spurs winger, who was unhappy at not getting regular first team action, playing 24 matches in four seasons with four goals scored and four loan spells away from the club, so left to go to Portsmouth in 1998, but despite his pace, he failed to establish a place there and after two years moved on. Played at Crystal Palace, Wolves and Rotherham United before dropping into non-league. When he finished playing had a number of coaching jobs including the Bangladesh Youth national team. |

Solomon Upton | Spurs signed winger Solomon Upton from Kettering in 1911 and when he made his debut against Crystal Palace in the London FA Charity Cup, the match was annulled as Tottenham had fielded an ineligible player. Made only four appearances before he was released in May 1913, whereupon he joined Portsmouth. Died in 1972. |
