Johnny Brooks | A tricky dribbler, Johnny Brooks served Tottenham from 1953 to 1959 after joining from Reading, playing 179 times and scoring 51 goals. Left in a swap deal that brought Les Allen to White Hart Lane and took Brooks to Chelsea, then moving around London to play for Brentford and Crystal Palace before trying his luck in Toronto, Returned to England in 1964 to play for Stevenage Town for three years. He stayed on after that for a while when the club got into financial trouble and became Stevenage Athletic. |

Alan Gilzean | The club that arose out of the financial issues in 1968, Stevenage Athletic provided Alan Gilzean with his first management post in 1975, but the club went under again a year later and lead to Stevenage Borough being formed. Gilzean had played for Tottenham from 1964 through to 1975, becoming a legend at White Hart Lane, making 439appearances and scoring 138 goals. |
