09.04.2022 | Having slipped 0-2 behind to West Ham at Little Heath, the Spurs Under-18s overcame the Irons 5-3 at Hotspur Way to take three Premier Under-18 League points.
A fifth minute goal by George Earthy had given West Ham the lead, converting at the second attempt when Hayton tipped his first effort onto the post. An error by Hayton in the 11th minute gave West Ham an easy second, giving the ball away and Callum Marshall made the most of the opportunity. A response was needed and Jez Davies’ shot brought a good stop from Knightbridge and a defender cleared Jamie Donley’s cross a the far post as Riley Owen closed in. Owen’s ball into Billy Heaps saw him brought down by Casey and Donley converted form the spot to reduce the deficit three minutes before half-time. although the keeper got a god hand to the shot. Spurs could have turned around level but Owen missed after Jordan Hackett set him up just before the whistle for the interval. Tottenham had been on top after going 0-2 down and the equaliser did arrive in the 62nd minute. Jaden Williams sent Donley wide on the left, from where he produced a far post cross for Heaps to head in. Spurs were awarded another penalty when Bryan Brandon-Waugh cut into the box from the right and was fouled, handing Donley the opportunity for his second, but Knightbridge saved the shot to his right. He put that right with 14 minutes left, as Brandon-Waugh put the ball into the box, it pin-balled around and Jamie buried the ball from a tight angle on the left into the top right corner. On 81 minutes, Jaden Williams made it 4-2 to Spurs, picking off Knightbridge’s poor kick out and ran it back into the box to slide it wide of the keeper at his near post. West Ham put up a little resistance when substitute Mubama scored from the penalty spot four minutes from full-time after Donley was adjudged to have handled, but the last word was Maxwell McKnight’s, racing in to fire Donley’s left wing cross into the net at the far post. It was a comprehensive win for Tottenham, who dominated possession, had more shots on goal and more touches and passes to show a strong mental resilience after going behind in the match. Teams : |
25.09.2021 | A dynamic performance by Spurs Under-18s overcame West Ham 3-0 at Hotspur Way in the Premier Under-18 league, with the Irons reduced to ten men in the second half of a torrid derby match.
Although Mubama went close for the visitors with an early header it was Tottenham who took a 14th minute lead when Max McKnight’s long forward pass came over the shoulder of Jamie Donley, who then chipped West Ham Keeper Jacob Knightbridge. Ten minutes later, Jaden Williams doubled the lead when Irons centre-back Kaelen Casey lost his bearings under a through ball from Donley and Williams took the ball on before slotting home low into the net to make it 2-0. Williams was denied by the keeper when he turned on a ball inside the six yard box, with Renaldo Torraj smacking a shot against the underside of the bar from the left corner of the box as the game entered added time. Some sort of response was expected from West Ham in the second half, but their lack of composure lead to a number of cautions for both sides, as their aggressive approach had to be matched by Spurs. The Irons were searching for a way back into the game, but apart from a smart save from a close range shot by Kodua five minutes in, there was little to trouble the Spurs keeper. The game got further away from the East Londoners four minutes later when a fine corner by Dante Cassanova was met by a powerful header from Rio Kyerematen that the keeper couldn’t stop that put Spurs into an unassailable 3-0 lead. Will Andiyapan had to make a well-time challenge on Kodua to prevent him going through on goal and he also forced Lo-Tutala into a fine save on 78 minutes after the overly-eager Falase fouled sub George Abbott to see red for a second booking. In the final action of the game, Alfie Dorrington headed just over from Cassanova’s free-kick. Teams : |

Tottenham Under-18s put the Premier Academy League Southern Group B title just a win away with a convincing 4-0 win over West Ham United at Spurs Lodge. While Spurs controlled the first half, they were unable to breach the Irons defence and started to loose their pattern of play as the interval approached. However, a tactical change at half-time and a few words of wisdom from coach Alex Inglethorpe set the side on their way to sparkling second 45 minutes. Five minutes in, Ryan Mason flighted a corner for Nathan Byrne to knock into the net and this goal gave the side great confidence. Dean Parrett soon wriggled away from his marker and released Mason, who dinked the ball expertly over the advancing keeper to make it 2-0. With 67 minutes gone, the game was virtually wrapped up, as Stephen Caulker’s header from a corner was saved, but Harry Kane was alive to the rebound and scored the third Tottenham goal. Saving the best for last, a good build up ended with Ryan Fredericks setting up Byrne to bury a shot low into the net from the edge of the area to make it 4-0 to Spurs. There was time in added time for Montano to get to the ball ahead of Jansson and hit the bar, leaving a simple task for Ahmed Abdulla to net the rebound for a consolation goal to leave the the final score 4-1. Tottenham Under-18s recorded a 3-2 away win over West Ham United thanks to two goals from Radwan Hamed and one from Leigh Mills. After a good opening spell, Spurs hit the bar, then Jake Livermore hit the post and the ball finally found it’s way into the net when a three-man movement down the right provided a chance for Radwan Hamed to score in the 25th minute. Some poor defending five minutes later saw West Ham equalise with an easy goal, but Spurs came back straight away with another attack on the right wing and Hamed converted at the near post. West Ham scored from a corner to level the scores once more, but with a strong wind behind Spurs in the second half, it made their game disjointed and they had to rely on a Jamie Davis free-kick to set up Leigh Mills, who ran onto the ball and side-foot home for the winner.
