.
Nathan Byrne Spurs youngster who developed at the club as a flying right back, but could not break into the first team.  Went out on a number of loans before signing for Swindon Town, then moved to Wolves before Wigan bought him in 2016.  Made 134 appearances in a four year stay before leaving for Derby County in 2020 as cash-strapped Wigan sold off their assets.
.
Pascal Chimbonda Signed from French club Bastia, full back Chimbonda stayed at Wigan Athletic for one season, scoring twice in 37 appearances and left under a cloud after handing his transfer request in soon after leaving the Highbury pitch on the last day of the 2005-06 season.  Joined Spurs in that summer after protracted negotiations and has settled into the Tottenham side.
.

.
Erik Edman Signed from Heerenveen in Holland in the summer of 2007, Edman was a quick, hard tackling full back, with an adventurous nature.  Scored a stunning 40 yard goal at Anfield, but left after just a year, when he joined Rennes in France.  Brought back to England by Wigan in 2008, Erik suffered a serious knee injury in his first few games and took a year to come back to playing.
