Tottenham Hotspur Reserves suffered a number of changes because of injuries to the first and their own team but managed to beat Coventry City reserves 10-0 at White Hart Lane to make it 119 goals in 28 games in the Football Combination.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

With five goals in each half, Spurs reached double figures through hat tricks from Terry Dyson, Dave Dunmore and Johnny Brooks (one a penalty), while the other goal was scored by Micky Dulin.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

14.04.201<\/span>2<\/span><\/span><\/td>\nTottenham’s Under-18s won this game against Coventry City in the FA Premier Academy League<\/span> 3-0 with a dominant performance.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>The last home game of the season saw Spurs push forward, while the Sky Blues looked content to defend their goal with effort and tenacity in the manner of their coach Lee Carsley.<\/span><\/p>\n

Spurs were hassled into giving the ball away and Coventry were grateful for the possession, starting most of their attacking moves from this tactic, but Richards headed a cross over the top when well-placed and Fredrick brought trialist Vigouronx into action with a save as he broke into the left hand side of the area, with Barthram shielding the loose ball for the keeper to grab at the second attempt.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Spurs took the lead in the 16th minute when Victor Zapata-Caicedo played a one-two with Souleymane Coulibaly on the left and he beat the keeper to his left after picking up the return pass inside the defender.\u00a0\u00a0 Coulibaly showed his strength in the air by forcing Burge to a couple of saves from headers and also his ability on the floor, by taking a long ball down, holding off defenders before playing it to Nabil Bentaleb, who hit a shot into the side netting.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the second half, the same pattern prevailed, as Spurs looked for goals and Coventry tried to play on the break.\u00a0 Two Coventry chances went begging before Coulibaly teed himself up for a volley that the keeper got a hand to and was then kicked off the line.\u00a0 A Kenneth McEvoy cross was headed against the crossbar by a defender and then Coulibaly had two shots wide (one a spectacular scissors’ kick that ended up nearer the corner flag).<\/span><\/p>\n

City had efforts through Baker-Richards (wide) and Fredrick, who forced Vigouronx into a save.\u00a0 In the 79th minute, Coulibaly got on the end of a McEvoy cross to head back across the keeper for Tottenham’s second goal and then two minutes later dragged a man out to the left before squaring for McEvoy to have a straightforward opportunity to beat the keeper to make it 3-0.<\/span><\/p>\n

08.01.201<\/span>1<\/span><\/span><\/td>\nA tough game at Coventry City saw our Under-18s draw 1-1 in the FA Premier Academy League.<\/span><\/p>\n

Spurs had gone ahead with an own goal from Zaine Angol-Francis’ throw-in to Laste Dombaxe, who fed the ball on to Kudus Oyenuga and the forward’s low cross was knocked past the Sky Blues keeper by one of his own defenders on 25 minutes.\u00a0 The goal was a little against the run of play, as Coventry had started brightly, but the goal gave Spurs the upper hand for the middle section of the game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chances were created, but Spurs failed to finish them off and with minutes remaining to half-time, City equalised when Billy Daniels went through, although there was a hint of offside about the goal.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the start of the second half, Tottenham played good football and should have gone back in front when Jack Munns took the ball around the goalie, but his shot struck the upright and with Darren McQueen closing in on the rebound, the keeper recovered to block his effort.\u00a0 Ryan Fredericks continued his comeback from injury as a second half substitute, but although another couple of opportunities presented themselves for Spurs, they went begging and the game ended all square.<\/span><\/p>\n

A 10th minute Jose M’Poku goal put Spurs into the lead and from there it was plain sailing, with a second following within five minutes as <\/span>Kudus Oyenuga netted.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Harry Kane grabbed a third and M’Poku’s second gave Tottenham a 4-0 lead at the interval.<\/span><\/p>\n

The second half saw substitute Laste Dombaxe score the fifth on 70 minutes, before Coventry pulled a goal back.\u00a0 However, Spurs scored again, with Kane’s second coming from a corner, although the Sky Blues had the final word, with a late consolation goal.<\/span><\/p>\n

30.10.201<\/span>0<\/span><\/span><\/td>\nTwice the Spurs Under-18s’ lead was hauled back by a determined Coventry City in a FA Premier Academy League match at Spurs Lodge.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span>There were five Under-16s in a young Spurs side, but they took the lead as Laste Dombaxe struck a fine shot from 20 yards out to beat the City keeper, but Coventry equalised when Spurs gave the ball away and were punished for it.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

On 50 minutes, Kudus Oyenuga finished calmly when faced with a one-on<\/span>-one situation to restore the lead, but again Coventry hit back in the 75th minute to tie it up at 2-2.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

23.01.2010<\/span><\/td>\nSpurs hit eight against Coventry City at Spurs Lodge to wipe away the memory of their FA Youth Cup exit in mid-week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Striker Kudus Oyenuga headed home Dean Parrett’s free-kick in the 11th minute to start the goal rush and the score was quickly doubled when Harry Kane netted after a good volley from 12 yards out, when he had lifted the ball over his marker’s head.\u00a0 Five minutes on, the third Spurs goal came from Paul Jose M’Poku, who was played in by Kane and the Belgian forward came inside his full-back and hit a low shot into the bottom corner of the net to make it 3-0.<\/span><\/p>\n

Only a good save from Jamie Butler kept the score-sheet clean, as Luke Bottomer tried a shot on goal after 20 minutes, but soon after a pass from Tom Carroll put Parrett clean through, but he was aware that Oyenuga was better placed and squared for the forward to get his second and Tottenham’s fourth.\u00a0 Jake Nicholson grabbed the fifth with a 12 yard shot and it was 6-0 before half-time as Nathan Byrne’s cross was headed into the path of Dean Parrett to strike home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Three minutes into the second half, the goals continued to hit the back of the Coventry net, as M’Poku slid in a cross that Kane finished expertly.\u00a0 Just after the hour mark, City pulled one back, when a corner was not cleared effectively and Cyrus Christie fired the ball back past Butler to make it 7-1.\u00a0 The final goal of the game came in the last ten minutes, when Byrne’s run on the right wing found M’Poku, who took a touch and set up Kane to fire home powerfully for the eighth Tottenham goal.<\/span><\/p>\n

28.02.2009<\/span><\/td>\nJake Livermore’s return to the side after recovering from a broken leg was a bonus to the Under-18s, who grabbed another late goal, but this time it was a winner.\u00a0<\/span>Having equalised in the last minute least week against Aston Villa, Spurs were reliant on another late strike to gain all three points on this occasion.\u00a0 Coventry City were in second place with Villa behind Spurs and took the initiative with a goal after five minutes, when the defence twice failed to clear a City free-kick.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, after 20 minutes, Spurs brought the score back to 1-1 when Andros Townsend’s corner was met by Calum Butcher, who netted the equaliser.<\/span><\/p>\n

The second half saw Spurs’ play becoming a bit disjointed, but this was partly due to Coventry breaking up any moves Tottenham did put together.\u00a0 On 80 minutes, Oscar Jansson made a fine save as a Coventry player went through with only the goalkeeper to beat, but the Swede denied him and kept the scores level.<\/span><\/p>\n

It proved decisive as Adam Smith came in off the right wing to cross with his left foot and the ball ended up in the Sky Blues’ net after the goalie misjudged it and Spurs were 2-1 winners.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Tottenham drew an incredible match with Coventry City’s Academy side, with the game ending 6-6 at Spurs Lodge !!<\/span><\/p>\n

Having lost goalkeeper Oscar Jansson after two minutes following a clash with a forward, as the Swede dived at his feet – picking up a chest injury in the process – young Italian goalie Mirko Ranieri replaced him between the sticks.<\/span><\/p>\n

A 25 yard free-kick from Ryan Mason put Tottenham ahead, with the lead being doubled when Jon Obika put in a cross for Andros Townsend to score at the second attempt after failing with a header in the first instance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Obika was the creator again, as Mason struck again to make it 3-0 just after the half hour.<\/span><\/p>\n

Coventry got a quick goal back and then reduced the lead to 3-2 a couple of minutes before the half-time whistle.\u00a0 However, Obika scored to put two goals between the teams again ten minutes after the interval.\u00a0 Once more, City hit back immediately, then brought the score to 4-4 within a couple of minutes, before taking the lead.<\/span><\/p>\n

The turnaround sparked a Spurs revival and Adam Smith did well on the right wing to create Ryan Mason’s hat-trick goal on 68 minutes to make it 5-5, but once more, Coventry went ahead with about 20 minutes left on the clock.<\/span><\/p>\n

With 80 minutes gone, Mason, Obika and Yaser Kasim all linked well to set up Dean Parrett to convert the opportunity and make it 6-6, which stayed the score until the end !!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A drive from Steve Perryman flew in off the underside of the bar in the ninth minute to give Spurs a flying start, but it only took a minute for Coventry City to pull level again, as Alan Green headed home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Graeme Souness was sent off just before John Stevenson rifled in a right-footed effort halfway through the second period, but Tottenham showed fighting spirit and John Oliver found the net through a sea of legs to make it 2-2.\u00a0 Twice in the final minute of the 90 Spurs went close to winning the tie, but with Coventry surviving, the game went into extra time, which failed to decide the winner and it was on to White Hart Lane for a second replay.<\/span><\/p>\n
