County in the FA Cup Sixth Round was not enough to take the Magpies through, as Paul Gascoigne inspired Tottenham to a semi-final place at Wembley.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #031070; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Oswald;\">Dean Thomas had gone close with a long range shot that bounced just in front of Erik Thorstvedt and hit the outside of the post and later Kevin Bartlett got his shot past the keeper, but Gary Mabbutt was in place to head the ball off the line.\u00a0 Bartlett went over in the box, but the ref only awarded a corner, but from it, the ball fell into the path of Don O&#8217;Riordan, who handed the Magpies the lead with a fierce drive through Paul Allen&#8217;s legs that beat Thorstvedt all ends up four minutes before half-time.\u00a0 A short corner played to Nayim and his shot flicked off Craig Short&#8217;s standing leg and went in off the post to make it 1-1 six minutes after the break.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #031070; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Oswald;\">Steve Cherry in the County goal had to be alert to make two sharp saves, one from a deflection off the boot of Dean Thomas.
