1901 Spurs travelled to Villa Park for their first FA Cup semi-final against favourites West Bromwich Albion (who they were also meeting for the first time) and came away easy victors.  All four goals were scored by Sandy Brown, who maintained his record of scoring in every round of the competition so far.  Spurs were to head for their first FA Cup final where they would meet Sheffield United.
