- HEAD COACH APPOINTMENT : – Italian Roberto de Zerbi has been announced as the new incumbent of the Head Coach’s role at Tottenham. There is no relegation escape clause in his five year contract according to reports and he is apparently looking to bring in former Italian international defender Alessandro Nesta as one of his coaches, while Bruno Saltor will stay on in the backroom team. A report claimed that Spurs had tried to make a move for Fulham manager Marco Silva, but he wished to stay at Craven Cottage.
- FINANCIAL RESULTS : – The club announced that there had been an increase in revenue to £565.3m in the year June 2024 – June 2025- a 7% rise on the previous year. However, TV revenue decreased as the poor on-field performance in the league resulted in a loss of almost £39m from media coverage. Overall the club declared a loss of £94.7m.
- INTERNATIONALS : – Lucas Bergvall was a 69th minute substitute as Sweden qualified for the World Cup finals with a 3-2 win over Poland in the play off to go to the USA in the summer.
Kevin Danso was an unused sub in Austria’s 1-0 friendly win against South Korea.
Dominic Solanke was a 59th minute substitute in England’s 0-1 home defeat by Japan at Wembley, while Djed Spence was a non-playing substitute.
Malachi Hardy was an unused sub as England Under-18s beat Croatia 2-0 to progress to the next round of qualifying for the U18 European Championships of 2027.
Jamie Donley scored for Northern Ireland in their 1-1 friendly draw in Wales.
Tyrese Hall was an 83rd minute substitute in their World Cup play-off match against DR Congo in Mexico tonight that ended 0-0 and went into extra time, where they lost 0-1.
Xavi Simons started for the Netherlands in their 1-1 friendly draw with Ecuador and was substituted in the 77th minute. Micky van de Ven came off the bench in the 46th minute.
Pedro Porro played all of Spain’s friendly against Egypt tonight that ended goal-less.
Aaron Maguire was an unused sub in the Republic of Ireland’s Under-21s’ 1-0 away win against Kazakhstan tonight in an U18 Euro Championship qualifier.
- TRANSFER RUMOURS : – According to speculation today, Aston Villa, Newcash United and Spurs all have an interest in buying Leeds United central defender Pascal Struijk as he moves into the last year of his contract at Elland Road.
Clube Brugge’s 21 year old German striker Nicolo Tresoldi is apparently a summer target for Woolwich and Tottenham with 30 million Euros his expected fee.
Spurs, Mancashter United, Newcash United and SSC Napoli are all said to be looking at Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Gomes, who looks set to leave the bottom placed Premier League club in the summer.
AS Roma central defender Evan Ndicka is at the centre of attention from Liverpool, Mancashter United and Tottenham with a fee north of 40 million Euros being quoted.
Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara of Galatasaray is being targeted by Tottenham, with his price tag set around £34 million, with Brighton & Hove Albion also keen on the 26 year old who previously played for Norwich City. While shopping at the Turkish club, Spurs are also reported in the press there as being interested in striker Baris Alper Yilmaz and goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır.
Brazilian club Flamengo are poised to make a move for Richarlison should Spurs get relegated.

- MANAGER RUMOURS : – Apparently, Tottenham are in talks with former Brighton & Hove Albion and Marseille Head Coach Roberto de Zerbi to fill the vacant position at the club as they see him as the long-term favourite, although it is not certain that he wants to come in now rather than wait until the club’s Premier League status is certain. Other names thrown into the argument still revolve around Sean Dyche, Ryan Mason, Harry Redknapp, Robbie Keane, Glenn Hoddle, Chris Hughton and Tim Sherwood. One new name added to the growing list by the Daily Telegraph is Ben Davies.
However, it is claimed that de Zerbi has been persuaded by a big salary and a huge bonus if he keeps Spurs up, with promise of transfer funds in the summer. Advanced talks between the two parties are reported to be underway with stories claiming that he is seeking an escape clause in case of relegation. Hardly committed is he ?
- PRE-SEASON FIXTURE : – The club have announced that have added a game to their pre-season tour Down Under where they will now be playing in Auckland, New Zealand, where they will face Auckland FC at Eden Park on Sunday 26th July with the match kicking off at 15.30 (local time).

- TRANSFER RUMOURS : – Chelsea’s Belgian 6′ 7″ keeper who is on loan at Strasbourg, Mike Penders, has been the subject of an approach from Tottenham, but he looks set to stay with the Pensioners.
A report today claims that Barcelona have started talks in an attempt to sign Luka Vuskovic.
Apparently, Tottenham are among a number of clubs looking at signing Juventus striker Jonathan David.
Spurs are keen on bringing Brentford winger Kevin Schade to the club, with Internazionale and Bayern Munich also monitoring the German international.
- UNDER-21s : – Tottenham Under-21s were beaten at Stevenage FC by Middlesbrough 1-3 in Premier League 2, with James Rowswell netting the Spurs goal.
- SPORTING DIRECTOR RUMOURS : – AFC Bournemouth’s Sporting Director Tiago Pinto is being linked with replacing Fabio Paratici and he will vie with Dougie Freedman, who is now Sporting Director of Al-Diriyah in Saudi Arabia.
- MANAGER RUMOURS : – Glenn Hoddle has said he would step in now, alongside someone like Robbie Keane, to manage the club in it’s current crisis.
Meanwhile Mauricio Pochettino and Roberto de Zerbi are both touted as favourites for the job, with Robbie Keane being a ‘dark horse’ for the position. Some articles claim that Tottenham have held talks with de Zerbi about becoming manager if they stay up.
Other sources are pushing for Harry Redknapp to come in for the rest of the season.
If Dougie Freedman is appointed as the new DoF, one article reckons that Oliver Glasner could end up as the new manager at Tottenham.

- UEFA FINES : – Following three Spurs fans making Nazi salutes at the away group match at Eintracht Frankfurt, the club have been fined 30,000 Euros and have a suspended ban preventing them from selling tickets to Spurs fans at the next away game in a UEFA competition should there be a recurrence of racist/discriminatory behaviour in the next year. In addition, there has been a 2,250 Euros fine imposed on the club for items being thrown by fans at the match.
- PREMIER LEAGUE : – Tottenham have had to make a complaint to the Premier League to remove a derogatory social media post they made regarding an incident involving a Spurs player in yesterday’s match at Fulham. At a time when the Premier League speaks out about players receiving hate mail on social media, it is utterly shameful that they feel it acceptable to do the same themselves.
- TRANSFER RUMOURS : – A story today links Tottenham being interested in Fiorentina midfielder Nicolo Fagioli.
